Overview
The first Ranma 1/2 game based on Rumiko Takahashi’s popular manga. You play Ranma, a boy who after falling in a magical hot spring, changes into a girl if he gets wet. The only way to change back is to come into contact with hot water. The large cast of supporting characters includes many shape changing people, including a panda, cat and goose! The game itself is a scrolling beat ‘em up (with some one-on-one stages) with a major focus on the visual scenes between levels that tell the story from the manga.

Comment
A rather disappointing use of the licence, this game works on paper but the implementation leaves a lot to be desired. The graphics range from average to poor - the character sprites somehow don't look proportionally correct at times and the visual scenes vary from well drawn to a bit rough. Gameplay feels loose, unfinished and just not 'solid' enough, and also suffers from an unevenness of difficulty. Ranma fans will get a bit of a buzz from the whole package of course, non-fans will find limited amusement from the game.
