Cute platform game converted from the arcade.

Comment
Legend of Hero Tonma is pretty good - but there is something about it that stops it from being great. It may be the weedy music, or that it's just too easy and not particularly varied. It's fun to play but it just needs more meat on its bones.

You say...
I played this game all the time in the arcade (in Bob's chip shop). I remember my fave Irem logo appearing on screen, which excited me 'cos of R-Type...but then platform action! Whaa? Anyway, a few 10p coins in I loved this gem. The arcade game is way tougher than this Engine port but happily it still has plenty of playability. The music's all there in twinkly buzzy Irem style and the graphics are generally good and quite D&D. The animation is well done, although some of the backgrounds are not. As mentioned it is easier than the arcade but you'll still be going nuts occasionally partly due to challenging level design, partly due to collision detection. If you take your time rather than rush levels is not a hard game. Anyhow, it's a great little platformer in my view and a much more pleasurable game than Ghouls and Ghosts - which is simply too tough! LoHT was good enough for our local chippy in the day and it's still good enough for me today...although now i have to have oven chips when I'm playing.
