Overview
Plot heavy platform game from the people that brought you Terraforming and Flash Hiders.

You say...
A nifty Wild West meets Demons platformer with a heavy emphasis on story. The game is mostly playable without knowing Japanese, and you can get the general idea of what's going on (or make it up yourself!), but there's a LOT of voiced story ingame and through cutscenes. The graphics are very clean and everything animates nicely, with big points going to amusingly animated ingame story moments. The gameplay will seem very familiar to anyone who's played Prince of Persia. You jump, climb, run, and step on plates as you explore the levels. The twist is the RPG elements (standard fare of weapon, armor, and item upgrades and options) and your Fiend. Basically a little pet who follows you around and helps fight, but the Fiend can sometimes help you solve puzzles, like use powers to light up a scene or magically make that wall go away. The developers even took the Prince of Persia fight system to a new length. Although all fights are prescripted and limited (40 in all), but they A) last a long time, B) are essentially boss fights as each enemy behaves and attacks uniquely, and C) you the player are given a surprising amount of moves. Think a traditional fencing match with flying demons and a very bouncy and agile hero. 3.5/5 stars, but more enjoyable if you understand Japanese, as the voice acting has a lot of heart with the game's thick story and you can't skip any of the story sequences.
